As I was randomly browsing online this morning, I happened to find the Explore Asheville page, for Asheville, NC. I’ve considered going to Biltmore Estate before. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of Beer City! On a side note, North Carolina seems to have a pretty good beer scene going on. With over 100 breweries, NC claims to lead the southern states in breweries. Way to go, North Carolina! Check out this page devoted to North Carolina Beer Month.

Beer City (which is Asheville, NC) is the home of 22 breweries, including the brewery at Biltmore Estate. I found a Google map of the breweries on The Beer Blogger’s Guide to Asheville. The city is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is a road I’m hoping to travel end-to-end during some vacation. It sounds like a cool little city. From the map, it looks like many breweries are a short distance away from each other in the downtown area.

Annually, there are at least five beer fests in Asheville. I love the fall, and leaf-peeping is definitely something I consider fun. I’m seriously considering making a trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway to go to Oktoberfest in Asheville, which is described as a German beer party in the streets. I don’t know how true this is, but this could be a wonderful trip!
